Stuart Matsumoto
I has been a pilot now for over 14 years, I don't just fly anyone can say they fly, I love to fly.
I have had some great experiences flying all over this great country. I have flown some Ultra
modern ships and some antiques that belong in a museum.
For me flying has always been an adventure. Many people have asked me, "aren't you afraid that
something might happen?" I always have explained it the same way and A good Helicopter pilot
knows that things will go wrong, maybe not mechanical but Pilot Error, Wind, or one of Murphy’s
laws will happen. The key is to limit risk. For me driving to work in Boston seems more risky than
the actual flying.
When I was twelve my parents took me flying in a sea plane off Lake Winnipesaukee, and I knew
what I wanted to do with my life after that.
It never took me long to answer someone who asked me , what do you want to be when you grow
up?
Over the years I have had the opportunity to learn how to fly with some of the most amazing pilots
who flew in Vietnam and Korea. One of the pilots who was an Inspiration to my flying is a USMC
Huey pilot who to this day is the best helicopter pilot I have ever known.
No matter who you are or what you do, flying in a Helicopter, is just one of those things you have
to do at-least once in your life. For others like myself it becomes part of your life forever.
